Outstanding Collaboration: Interplan and Congress Center Leipzig receive IAPCO Collaboration Award 2024 Interplan Congress, Meeting & Event Management AG and the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) have received the IAPCO Collaboration Award 2024. At the award ceremony at IBTM World in Barcelona, the “remarkable spirit of collaboration in organising two consecutive conferences in Leipzig” was honoured. This refers to the 76th Congress of the German Society of Urology (DGU) and VISZERALMEDIZIN 2024, which took place back-to-back at the end of September/beginning of October in the CCL and Hall 2 of the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre. Interplan and Congress Center Leipzig: Two major congresses, many synergies Interplan has just hosted two major medical congresses at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL). The 76th Congress of the German Society of Urology (DGU) from 25 to 28 September was immediately followed by the VISZERALMEDIZIN Congress from 30 September to 5 October. The realisation of both congresses, with around 6,000 and more than 5,000 participants respectively in the same location, was based on a demanding schedule. At the same time, a variety of synergies and operational optimisations were possible, which could be exemplary for the industry. Back to Presence: Large Medical Congress at the CCL Viszeralmedizin, held September 16 to 18, was the first large conference that took place again at Congress Center Leipzig (CCL). After the pandemic-related break, this meeting which attracted more than 4,000 visitors and about 100 exhibitors created an example how complex in-person meetings can be held successfully under new conditions. Sustainable Ideas for the Meeting Destination Leipzig With a sizeable number of large congresses, medical conferences and high-calibre industry meetings, 2018 was one of the most successful business years of Congress Center Leipzig (CCL). A total of 78 events attracted 120,700 participants. The good occupancy of the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo has contributed to this success as well. There, 59,000 participants attended a total of 95 events.
